POETRY TAVERN Becoming a Poet, a Prose Introduction
Note, July, '07 : If you're interested in reading my recent poems, which I haven't uploaded to this website, more than 400 of them are now online on my poet's page at the POEMHUNTER website (www.poemhunter.com). Most of these are "secular", poems about aspects of living in this world. They are informed by my spiritual values, however. I don't feel I have the distance on "my" poems to judge what's really spiritual. Some of the new ones may simply be more concrete, and therefore better, than many of those you read here. HOWEVER, the "Six Journeys" poems just below were a special gift, unlike most anything else that's come through me. Lovers of Meher Baba may be interested that the book "Canticles for Meher" was enjoyed by His Mehera J. Irani, who wrote that she wished it to be widely read. I'd be interested in feedback about the new poems and how they compare with those in "The Secrets God Tells Lovers", below—if such a comparison is even possible.
